About the African Union Commission Chairperson’s Youth Envoy
The African Union Commission Chairperson’s Youth Envoy (AUCYE) serves as the official representative and advocate for young people across Africa.
The Youth Envoy works with governments, development partners, civil society organizations, and young leaders to ensure that the voices, ideas, and aspirations of African youth are reflected in the African Union’s policies, programmes, and initiatives.
The position plays a key role in advancing youth development and strengthening youth engagement across the continent.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old throughout the appointment
- Hold a Master’s degree with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least ten years of relevant experience
- Have demonstrated leadership experience in youth development, public policy, advocacy, international relations, development studies, political science, information technology, or related fields
- Have experience in youth mobilization, partnership building, and policy advocacy
- Possess strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Be proficient in at least one African Union working language (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese, or Spanish)
- Be from the West, East, or Central African regions, in line with the African Union’s geographical rotation policy

Remuneration
Successful candidates will receive:
- Internationally Recruited Staff: Up to US$96,921.34 per year
- Locally Recruited Staff: Up to US$78,461.08 per year
