Investment is a great way to make your money work for you. There are a lot of platforms in Nigeria where you can invest but none can be compared to farm investment in terms of the advantages.

There are several farm investments platforms in Nigeria. Some of these connect the farmers to the investors while some others do the farming themselves. Here are the best farm investments you can do in Nigeria.

  1. Farmsby:

Farmsby uses crowdfunding to secure capital for farmers. This allows their network of farmers to focus on the production, sales, and distribution of cash crops. Farmsby offers two investment packages namely standard and joint investment package. Standard investment offers 50% ROI for a cycle of 90 days with a minimum of #5000 and a maximum of #500000. The joint venture package offers 75 ROI for 180 days for a minimum investment of #500,000.

  1. Farm4Me:

Vistawood Innovations’ Farm4Me is a crowdfunding initiative with a difference. They farm for investors on contract. To invest with Farm4Me, you as an investor would need to pick a project, sign an agreement, and pay the amount you would be investing. After this, the farmers would farm, harvest, and sell the products based on the contract you sign. You can invest in rice, melon, soya bean, or sorghum. Return on investment could go as high as 70% and you are guaranteed your full money back in case of market price crashes or low crop yield.

  1. Payfarmer:

Payfarmer offers a farm investment program that focuses on livestock and cash crop production. Investors can opt to invest in any yam, pepper, fishing, poultry, and pig farming. It has over six thousand investors and about a thousand farmers in its network. You can invest with a minimum of #25,000 and you can expect a 20% to 30% ROI at the end of five to 10 months. You do not have to worry because your investment is insured with Leadway Assurance Company.

  1. Thrive Agric:

Thrive Agric is a digital agricultural operator the focuses on poultry and rice farming. You can invest in either the poultry or the rice farm with as low as #10,000. The return on investment is dependent on the amount you invested and it is between 12% and 20%. Thrive Agric boasts of over 100,000 farmers in its network. The farms are insured by Leadway Assurance Company.

  1. Farm cart:

Farmcart provides principals with the opportunity to invest in either fish or livestock farming. The farm is owned by Farmcart and it is managed by Farmcart’s staff. They oversee the activities of both the local farmers and the financial partners. Investors can expect a 15% to 30% return on investment for every farming cycle. The whole project is insured with Leadway Assurance Company, so you do not have to worry about your investment.

  1. E-farms:

Foodbank Growmore Ltd birthed the E-farms with the sole aim of linking investors to farm holders. The goal of this platform is to empower Africans with the skills and knowledge to set up and run agro-business. You can invest in crop farming such as tomatoes, cassava, maize, rice, and pepper. You can also invest in livestock farming such as fish, pig, and poultry. You can expect a return of 15 percent on your investment that ranges from #45,000 to #70,000.

  1. Farm Funded:

Farm funded is a platform that focuses on rice farming, milling, and processing. You can invest in any or all of the stages of rice production.  To invest in rice farming, you will need a minimum of #20,000 and you should expect a 20% return on investment at the end of the farming cycle -8 months. However, you can get an ROI of up to 80% on investment as low as #100,000 for a 2-year tenure (2 farming cycles).

  1. Farmcenta:

Farmcenta is a platform that allows investors to invest in agro-based businesses such as maize farming, rice farming, and cattle rearing. You can start investing with a sum of #70,000 and expect between 15% to 30% return on investment.

  1. Smartfarm:

Smartfarm is endorsed by top Agric-focused organizations in Africa. This is one of the easiest platforms to invest in. it will only take you a few minutes and steps. The return is as high as twenty-five percent. You can invest in melon, maize, or cassava farm. 

  1. Ez Farming:

EZ Farming is an international agricultural crowdfunding platform. It has operations in other countries such as the US, Canada, South Africa, Sierra Leone, and some European countries. It uses technology to connect farmers with investors.

Other noteworthy farm investments in Nigeria include:

  • Farminvest:

Farminvest allows investors to invest in poultry, cattle, ram, and goat farming. It also allows investment in melon farm and agro commodity trading.  You can expect a monthly ROI between 5% to 40%.

  • E-poultry:

it is owned by Takvor resources and you can earn as much as 40% ROI on as low as #40,000 investment on their digital poultry investment platform.

  • Porkvest:

it is owned by Jadek Agro Connect. It offers 20% to 30% ROI on pig farm investment for a 9 months farming cycle. You can opt for either the 2-pig package, 4-pig package, or the 10-pig package.

  • PorkMoney:

This investment is also in pig farming. It offers between 15% and 30% ROI at the end of the 11 months farming cycle.

There are numerous lucrative farm investments in Nigeria.  Remember, you have to be careful to choose the right platform for you.  You have to plan to also ensure your investment is timely. You should ensure you do your background check both on the platform and the business itself.
