How to be an affiliate for a business plan writing company

Affiliate marketing is a form of provision by businesses that allows other people (referred to as Affiliate Marketers) to be rewarded for helping such businesses to make sales as a result of the marketing efforts of the affiliate marketers. Put differently, if a company has provisions for affiliate marketing in its operations, it means that the company has a system that rewards anyone who brings customers to buy from them. So, the marketing efforts that result in the customers buying from the company is a complete responsibility of the affiliate marketer, the company has little or nothing to do with it.

By implication, an affiliate marketer is someone who looks for companies that have affiliate systems, becomes part of that system by registration, and then takes up the responsibility of advertising the products and/or services of the said company using his own means and at his cost, in order to receive the reward(s) that the company has already set when someone patronizes the company as a result of his/her marketing efforts. This reward is usually some monetary payment often referred to as a commission. So, the next thing we will need to consider is the question of how to be an affiliate for a business plan writing company.

  1. Start with a search

The very first logical step is to commence a search for reputable business plan writing companies that you can work with, in this regard. Most companies won’t turn down your offer even when they do not have a structured affiliate system on the ground before your offer.

 

  1. Review the reward system

Once you have contacted a company, whether they already have an established affiliate system or you are the one offering it to them, you should look at whatever they are offering and juxtapose it together with the costs you will be incurring in the process of marketing for them (I will expatiate on these costs later). It is wise to do this because if you don’t, you can end up in a deal in which the monetary rewards that are on offer are far lesser than the cost you are incurring, and that won’t make any economic sense.

 

  1. Assemble your platforms for marketing

We are at a critical juncture now and you must pay close attention. How diligent you are at this juncture will determine how much profit you can make – or whether you’ll even make a profit at all. The platforms you have for marketing the goods and/or services of the business plan writing company the affiliate of which you are is a major determinant for success. As a grand rule, the more platforms you have, the more sales you can make for the business plan writing company, potentially – and the more sales you help them make, the financial reward you can make in turn as commissions.

Generic platforms are those that are already existing (whether free or paid) and were not built by you but have the traffic that you need and so you can use it to let the word out about what you are doing. Almost all of such platforms are Social Media platforms. Good examples are Facebook (posts, pages, messages, groups, etc.), Instagram, Twitter, and even WhatsApp posts and statuses. Since most of us are already familiar with these platforms and how to use them, I won’t be dwelling on them so much here but will be focusing more on the custom platforms.

 

Custom or purpose-built platforms

These are platforms that are created by you for the specific purpose of marketing the product and/or services of the company with which you have signed up as an affiliate. A very good example of this is setting up a website or a blog to showcase the goods or services of the business plan writing company. As a ground rule, your primary goal is to work with platforms that deliver very high traffic, leads, and customers to your company because it is in doing so that your efforts can pay off and the entire affiliate thing can be worthwhile. Let me quickly give you some tips to both minimize your costs as well as maximize your results while setting up a custom platform as an affiliate, especially one that is just starting.

 

As a new affiliate, never begin by using paid services or platforms for your marketing efforts, except you have already gained a mastery of such tools or platforms and you are confident about the results you expect, or you have a professional who is willing to help you in those areas without you incurring undue charges. Free tools you can begin with are WordPress and Wix for a website, eCommerce store, and blog creation. You can use free tools such as Canva and Desynger for your graphics design, and once the design is ready, you can begin to share on the internet to drive traffic to your platform.

When you begin to make money, you can invest in more sophisticated tools. However, this is by no means a rule. If you are certain and confident about your level of knowledge and technical expertise with platforms and tools, you can start investing money in them right from the onset.

 

  1. Learn on the job and grow

The final point I will give you here cannot be overemphasized. Anything that grows in a healthy way starts from the bottom up. Invest in educating yourself in the topics of interest that are related to affiliate marketing and will help you to perform better as one.
