Who Can Be Nominated?

Please note: Self-nominations are not accepted. All nominations must be submitted by a qualified third party who is familiar with the nominee’s work and achievements.
Selection Criteria
The Selection Committee will evaluate nominees based on:
- Scientific excellence and sustained research impact
- Innovative and practical sustainability solutions
- Contributions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Leadership within the academic or professional community
- Demonstrated real-world impact of their research
The committee will also consider evidence of mentorship, institutional leadership, policy contributions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Nomination Process
The nomination process opened on 1 July 2026.
Qualified third-party nominators should submit nominations through the official online platform.
After the submission deadline, an independent Selection Committee comprising internationally recognized sustainability experts will review all eligible nominations and select the 2027 award recipient.
The successful winner will be invited to receive the award during the World Sustainability Forum 2027.
