Kole Akintujoye, an American medical professional and philanthropist originally from Nigeria, founded Our Daily Bread to provide aid to individuals during their most challenging times and end hunger in Nigeria.Since its establishment in February 2022, the foundation has been diligently working to combat hunger by providing food assistance to those who need it in Nigeria.
According to Akintujoye, “Give us our daily bread is one of the petitions in the lord’s prayer for those of us who are Christians. No matter the religion you practice, we all need our daily bread from God. My inspiration came from God. Some people cannot put food on their table and some people have this in excess. This is why I and my team created this initiative which is to feed the hungry in order to keep their body and soul. The goal of our foundation is to touch people in their lowest. God is the giver of our daily bread all we do is assist. The big picture for us is to eradicate hunger in Nigeria and the world at large”.
Highlighting the foundation’s achievements, Kole Akintujoye emphasized that Our Daily Bread provides daily sustenance for individuals in need.
“Since its inception in February 2022, Our Daily Bread has been providing daily meals to those in need. We have a Facebook platform where people can share their challenges and make requests for assistance. They share their request with us in truth and in love”.
When asked about the foundation’s plans for the future, Akintujoye expressed a desire to expand beyond Nigeria and feed the hungry in other parts of the world. He stated, “Currently, our focus is on feeding those in need in Nigeria, but our ultimate goal is to ensure that the poor have access to food worldwide and do not go to bed hungry.”
The impact of Our Daily Bread has been significant, with numerous individuals and families benefitting from their efforts. The organization has become a symbol of hope for those struggling to put food on the table, and their work continues to motivate others to make a positive impact in their communities.
