Wizkid real name, biography, net worth, achievements, and relationships

Wizkid is a popular Nigerian singer who has become one of the world’s most influential performers. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, was born in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, on July 16, 1990. He rose to prominence internationally thanks to the American rapper Drake’s appearance in his smash song “One Dance.” Wizkid became the first African musician to amass one million followers on Twitter, earning him a spot in the Genius book of Records. He has so far produced successful singles for other countries, traveled the globe, and worked with renowned artists like Drake, Major Lazer, and Beyonce. Even the Wizkid Biography cannot adequately convey this extraordinary artist’s skills.

Education and Qualification

Ijebu Ode Grammar School was where Wizkid studied. When he graduated from high school, he enrolled in Lagos State University. But after a year, he transferred to Lead City University from Lagos State University. Similar to that, he left after just two sessions. Evidently, Wizkid preferred to pursue music over all other endeavors. I salute Starboy because he ultimately found success.

Wizkid, popularly known as Star Boy, grew up in a polygamous household. Thirteen children and three wives were born to his father. The Nigerian star was the only male child in an interfaith family of twelve female siblings. His father follows Islam, but his mother was a Pentecostal Christian. Given that his father has three sons with several moms, it is very possible that Star Boy will follow his polygamous example. Wizkid’s first child, “Boluwatife Balogun,” was born in 2011; its mother is Sola Ogudugu. Ayo Balogun Junior, his second child, was born to American-Guinean stripper Binta Diallo. Zion Balogun is the third child Wizkid and his British-Jamaican manager Jada Pollock, who is based in London, have together.

Personal Life and Relationships

He has been accused of being the father of several women’s children, which he has denied, but some have claimed it to be real. After doing a comprehensive investigation, “Nigerian Entertainment Today” (NET) stated in its 22nd August issue of 2011 that he fathered his first kid at the age of 21, and the mother’s name was Sola Ogudugu, who was an undergraduate student at the time. Before he finally agreed to the accusation in October 2013, he continued to reject it for two years. He posted a photo of his two-year-old son, Boluwatife Balogun, to his Instagram account in October 2013. He also has two more boys from two separate women, Zion Balogun and Ayodeji Balogun, and he has stated that he would like to have a daughter after having three sons. When they became pregnant with his children, all of his children’s mothers were considered to be “baby mothers” who were underage.

Wizkid Career Beginnings and Achievements

The Star Boy Entertainment boss was inspired to sing when he was younger by Fela Kuti, King Sunny, and Bob Marley. He sang in the church choir as a child before joining forces with other church members to establish the band “Glorious Five.” While he was eleven years old, the trio split up after recording a joint album in 2001. Previously known as Lil Prinz, Wizkid changed his stage name to Wizkid in 2006. OJB Jezreel, a producer and owner of OJB Point Beat Studios, later in life discovered Wizkid. Wizkid was given the directive by Jezreel to spend a year learning the craft of music from the aforementioned musicians before he was ready to record. Wizkid co-wrote tracks for Banky W’s album “The W Experience” during this incubation phase. He also contributed to the musical compositions of 2 Face and Naeto C.

In 2009, shortly after joining Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), Wizkid began work on his debut album, “Superstar.” He released “Holla at your boy,” the album’s lead single, in January 2010. He was shocked when the song became a chart-topper and was nominated for Best Pop Song. The Hyundai Sonata that came with the Headies Next Rated Award was won by it later that year. Wizkid released songs from the album in the months that followed, including “Tease me” and “Don’t dull.” The top producers in Nigeria, including E-Kelly and Masterkraft, produced the album, making it a masterpiece. Banky W, Skales, D Prince, and Wande Coal all made cameos. After being delayed twice, “Superstar” was finally published on June 12th, 2011. At the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, the album was named Best Album of the Year. In addition, the album received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2012 Headies.

2012 saw the recording of the Empire Mates State of Mind compilation album by Wizkid, Shaydee, Banky W, and Niyola. Following the album’s release, the quartet embarked on a concert tour of the United States and London. Following that, Wizkid started working on his second studio album, Ayo. Wale, Akon, Femi Kuti, Tyga, Banky W, Seyi Shay, and Phyno all made cameos on the album. The top Nigerian producers, including Legendury Beatz, Maleek Berry, Sarz, and Uhuru, who is located in South Africa, handled the album’s production as well. Grammy-nominated Nigerian superstar Femi Kuti was a featured artist on the album’s lead hit, “Jaiye Jaiye.” Wizkid became the first musician from Nigeria to have more than a million Twitter followers in February 2014. The album also topped worldwide charts in over 18 different nations. In addition, it won four prizes.

Following his duet with Drake on the international smash “One Dance” in 2016, Wizkid rose to fame on a global scale. The song dominated charts all over the world, making Wizkid the most sought-after performer from Africa. It peaked at number one in 15 nations, including the United States. Wizkid released his third studio album, Sounds from the Other Side, in July 2017. (SFTOS). It is his debut on a big label and is predominantly Caribbean in style. Several songs from the album, including “Daddy Yo,” “Sweet Love,” “Come Closer,” “African Bad Gyal,” and “Naughty Ride,” helped to raise it. As a result of his involvement with “One Dance,” Wizkid was acknowledged as the first Afrobeats artist to be listed in the 2018 Guinness World Records.

The EP Soundman Vol. 1 was made available by Wizkid’s record label Starboy Entertainment on December 6. The EP, which focuses primarily on Wizkid, also includes Chronixx, Dj Tunez, Kel P, and London. Songs like “Thankful,” “Blow,” and “Ease your mind” are on the CD. Wizkid is scheduled to release his eagerly awaited third album, “Made in Lagos,” in 2020. Burna Boy, Damian Marley (Jamaica), Tems, Starboy Terri, Ella Mai (Britain), Tay Iwar, Skepta (British Nigerian), Projexx (Jamaica), and H.E.R. are just a few of the artists on Wizkid’s upcoming album (American). In addition, he named the members of his sound engineering and production team: Kel P, BlaqJerzee, London, Sarz, Mutay, and Juls (all British Ghanaians), as well as Dro (an American).
